June 14, 2010

Members present: John & Wanda Bobo, John and Lori Donaldson, Jim Leathers, Bobby Hatchette, Matt Clark
Property line issue: Owner of adjoining property to parsonage has arranged for the water and power lines to be moved.
Floor has been paid for, and is finished in the choir room.
Landscaping committee will be putting sod on the side of the church (where there was water damage). To reiterate:  $500 was given to the landscape committee in January 2010 for beautification of the grounds.
Power pole and power outlets for field across the street are still a work in progress.  Matt Ayers (Beth Downs son) has donated some time and stuff towards this goal.
Jim Leathers says that his grandson may be willing to install the new handicap ramp as an Eagle Scout project.  Roger Sheridan has a design for the ramp and will work with Jim's grandson.
Wanda would like to get a quote on painting the bathrooms in the church.  Bobby has someone coming tomorrow to look at it.  Wanda to get a couple more bids.
Wanda also suggested that we get a price on replacing the carpet on the steps going down to the choir room.
The security system has been installed in the parsonage.  Had to get a land line reinstalled to support the monitoring option. (new phone # is 770-786-0820).  Cost of phone is $36 a month.  Motion passed to have the church pay for the phone.
The parsonage door is still in the works.  Will be replaced when the Donaldsons get back from vacation.  Will probably have the installers put some additional reinforcement put on door.
John Bobo suggested we think about securing the pastor's office rather than the entire fellowship hall. With a more secure door and windows any valuable items could be stored in there.
Agreed to put one of the security systems that we have already purchased in Fellowship Hall.  The motion sensor and alarm may help deter any vandalism.  The code to disable the alarm would have to be shared liberally with the congregation given the amount of traffic that goes through this building.  Matt to take another look as installing.
We still need a permanent drain for the dehumidifier in the choir room. Jim Leathers to look into this. Lori to look into getting a grounded outlet(s).
Matt Clark to get prices from Lithonia Lighting on three 4 foot light fixtures for the choir room.
Travis Swords to get all of the fire extinguishers in both building replaced / recharged.
Lori to look into repairing the windows (squirrel damage) in the back of the choir room. If not feasible to fix then we will look into replacing.

Thanks
Matt S. Clark
